Shooting & Stalking on Ardtalnaig Estate

From deer stalking to grouse shooting, Ardtalnaig Estate, situated in the heart of Perthshire is the ideal venue for country sports. Roe deer and red deer stalking, high quality walked-up pheasant and grouse shooting are all available on the Estate.

Stalking at Ardtalnaig 2009/2010

Red Stags 1st July-20th October
The best time for Red Stags is during the months of August, September and the first part of October. Stag stalking ground varies from open hill ground to fairly serious mountain terrain; it is a sport which requires some physical exertion to enjoy it to its fullest.
The days’ fees are broken down as follows; If you go out on the hill and do not get a shot then only the outing fee of £150 is charged, if however you shoot and miss or wound the beast then the full amount of £375 is due.
If you are staying at Ardeonaig for two nights or more, we will gladly give you a £50 discount on each Stag shot so £325 per stag/night with us.

Red Hinds 21st October-15 February
The charge for Hind stalking is £150 per gun per day, guns can expect 1 to 3 Hinds per outing.

Duck flighting 1st September-end January
Prices from £75 per gun on our own ponds for an evening shoot. Maximum two guns. A minimum charge of £100.

Rough Walked up
A limited amount of walked up sport is available offering a mixed bag. Pheasants, Hare, Snipe, Grouse and Wood Pigeon can be expected. Prices start from £200 per gun per day this includes 1 brace of Grouse per Gun. Any other Grouse are charged at an additional £80 per brace. Maximum 4 guns.

Grouse Walked up
We have a limited amount of walked up Grouse shooting available on the estate. Prices are from £80 per brace with a minimum outing charge of £200 per gun, per day. Maximum 4 guns

Keepers Tips
We highly recommend that all guns tip the Keeper-this is not compulsory but generally the norm. Guide line tips are £25 per day and hopefully more if you are successful and / or have an above average experience.

Ben Lawers View Self Catering Cottage

Anyone guest booking stalking will be required to pay a 50% deposit on all stalking when booking. Please note the hotels normal cancellation policy applies to all bookings. Deposits for stalking are non- refundable.

The hotel and Estate reserve the right to cancel the outing if we feel the guest’s health and safety will be compromised in any way.
