We have recently taken over the Ardtalnaig Estate (over 8000 acres) and are now able to offer guests guided walks, photographic stalking, off-road cycling, an exclusive use Mountain Bothy for lunch and dinner and a self catering cottage. Guided Off Road 4 x 4 Estate Drive - Out on the hill with Ally
Spend the day on the hills of Ardtalnaig Estate with Ally McNaughton and see the Scottish wildlife in its natural habitat. Discover how the landscape has been managed over the generations. Travel in a Land Rover (maximum 6 guests) onto the hill and use traditional stalking techniques to get close to some fantastic wildlife including red deer, birds of prey, grouse, mountain hare and red squirrels. A picnic lunch will be provided. The tour takes five hours and will usually depart at 10.00am

Photographic Stalking:
All year round.
The best time for Red Stags is during the months of September and during October. The ground varies from open hill ground to fairly serious mountain terrain; it is a sport which requires some physical exertion to enjoy it to its fullest.
The outing will be led by our experienced Game Keeper who will endeavour to get you up close for that once in a lifetime picture. Refreshments for the day are provided by the hotel.
Guest are expected to provide all their own equipment.
The days’ fees are as follows; (includes lunch and refreshments)
One guest for all day exclusive £125
Two guests for an all day exclusive£175

Guided Walking
Ali MacNaughton who has been on the estate for 26 years takes guests out for a guided walks, the route and length depend on the weather and time of year but generally an outing will last between 4 and 6 hours.
Refreshments are provided. In the winter months a hot lunch will be served at “Dunan” our bothy in the Wilderness.
Fees for the day are as follows; (includes lunch and refreshments)
Exclusive guide walk for 1 or 2 people £100
Exclusive group (for a maximum of 8 people) £100 for the first 2 and then £35 per person thereafter.

Mountain Bike Excursions
We will transport you from the hotel to Ardtalnaig farm house from where you will cycle through some of the most breathtaking scenery up to “Dunan” bothy, here lunch and refreshments will be served. The return cycle takes an alternative slightly easier downhill return to the farm from where you will be transported back to the hotel.
The days’ fees are as follows; (includes lunch and refreshments)
Exclusive cycle day £140 per couple (£25 discount per person if you provide your own Bike)
Groups of 3 or more £140 for the first 2 people and then £50 per person thereafter.

On the south side of Loch Tay, with superb views over the loch, we are now to offer a 3 bedroom and 3 bathroom (sleeps 6) cottage providing comfortable, excellent accommodation with electric heating and an open fire. Country Sports
Ardtalnaig Estate offers some of the best opportunities for country sports that you will find anywhere in Perthshire. We can organise shooting on the highest quality from deer stalking, walked up pheasant, grouse and partridge shooting for parties of up to ten sporting guests at a time (we can also make it a family event).

How to book
Please call the hotel directly or email us with your request. Please note our terms and conditions. Guests booking these activities will be required to pay a deposit of 50% on booking. In the event of the guest cancelling the deposit will not be refunded. The hotel and Estate reserve the right to cancel the outing if we feel the guest’s health and safety will be compromised in any way. |
